Fears and Phobias

Everybody it would seem has something they feel “funny” about. This belief is normally held in the a person’s mind without any severe consequence, yet for some, phobias can severely disrupt normal life. From the more common phobias like public speaking, to the obscure – maybe a fear of Moths- a phobia is just as real to that person as it may seem irrational to somebody else. Many people feel that flying in a plane does not seem right, but nevertheless, still fly and enjoy the benefits of convenient travel but for those who have developed a ‘severe’ phobia of flying, they may never take a holiday abroad or accept that life-changing promotion if it means stepping onto a plane.

Likewise, people suffering from severe Agoraphobia may become socially withdrawn and fearful of the outside world, which will no doubt have a severe impact on their self-esteem and social skills. It is important to acknowledge that Phobias may be mild or severe and that no two people suffer the same way. Anxieties and Phobias are incredibly common place. Whether you are afraid of spiders or heights, a course of hypnotherapy can be extremely effective healing these types of issues.
